એર ઇન્ડિયાનો નિર્ણય, 17 જૂનથી ફ્લાઇટ નંબર ‘AI 171’ની જગ્યાએ AI 159નો ઉપયોગ થશે નિર્ણય દુર્ઘટનાગ્રસ્ત લોકો પ્રત્યે શ્રદ્ધાંજલિ રૂપે લેવામાં આવ્યો

એર ઇન્ડિયા (AI) એક્સપ્રેસે જીવલેણ દુર્ઘટનાને પગલે ફ્લાઇટ નંબર ‘171નો ઉપયોગ બંધ કરવાનો નિર્ણય કર્યો છે. ગુરુવારે અમદાવાદથી લંડન જતી બોઈંગ 787–8 ડ્રીમલાઈનર ફ્લાઇટ AI 171 ટેક ઓફ બાદ તરત જ મેઘાણી નગર નજીક દુર્ઘટનાગ્રસ્ત થઈ હતી. વિમાનમાં 242 મુસાફરો સવાર હતા, જેમાંથી માત્ર એક – વિશ્વાસકુમાર રમેશ જ જીવિત બચ્યા હતા. મોતનો આંકડો હવે 274 સુધી પહોંચ્યો છે.

સૂત્રોના જણાવ્યા મુજબ, હવે 17 જૂનથી ફ્લાઇટ નંબર ‘AI 171’ની જગ્યાએ AI 159નો ઉપયોગ થશે. આ નિર્ણય દુર્ઘટનાગ્રસ્ત લોકો પ્રત્યે શ્રદ્ધાંજલિ રૂપે લેવામાં આવ્યો છે. એમ્બાર્ક મેનૂઅલ અને બુકિંગ સિસ્ટમમાં પણ આ ફેરફાર શુક્રવારે અમલમાં લાવાયો છે.

આ ઉપરાંત, એર ઇન્ડિયા એક્સપ્રેસે પણ તેનો ફ્લાઇટ નંબર ‘IX 171’ બંધ કરવાનો નિર્ણય લીધો છે. એ અગાઉ, 2020માં કોઝિકોડ ક્રેશ પછી પણ તે ફ્લાઇટ નંબર દૂર કર્યો હતો.

એર ઇન્ડિયાએ DGCAના આદેશ મુજબ, બોઇંગ 787 ડ્રીમલાઈનરના 9 વિમાનોની સેફ્ટી ચકાસણી પૂર્ણ કરી છે, અને બાકીના 24 વિમાનોનું ઓડિટ ચાલુ છે. કુલ 33 બોઇંગ 787 વિમાનો એર ઇન્ડિયાના ફલિટમાં છે. DGCAએ વધુમાં તમામ વિમાનોનું સેફ્ટી ઓડિટ અને મેન્ટેનન્સ ચેક વધારવાનો આદેશ આપ્યો છે.

Air India decides to use flight number ‘AI 171’ instead of AI 159 from June 17

Air India (AI) Express has decided to stop using flight number ‘171’ following the fatal accident. On Thursday, the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flight AI 171 from Ahmedabad to London crashed near Meghani Nagar soon after take-off. There were 242 passengers on board the plane, out of which only one – Vishwaskumar Ramesh – survived. The death toll has now reached 274.

According to sources, from June 17, flight number ‘AI 171’ will now be used as AI 159 instead of AI 159. This decision has been taken as a tribute to the victims of the accident. This change in the embarkation manual and booking system was also implemented on Friday.

In addition, Air India Express has also decided to stop its flight number ‘IX 171’. Earlier, it had also removed the flight number after the Kozhikode crash in 2020.

Air India has completed the safety audit of 9 Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft as per the DGCA order, and the audit of the remaining 24 aircraft is underway. A total of 33 Boeing 787 aircraft are in Air India's fleet. The DGCA has further ordered increased safety audits and maintenance checks of all aircraft.
