ગજબ ! એક સમુદાયમાં આવો પણ છે રિવાજ , કુંવારી છોકરીને રંગ છાંટ્યો તો ...!

કુંવારી છોકરીને રંગ છાંટયા પછી જો યુવક લગ્ન કરવાની ના પાડે તો ઘર સહીત તમામ સંપતિ યુવતીના નામે કરવી પડે છે 

રંગબેરંગી રંગોનો તહેવાર હોળી યુવાઓ ખૂબજ ઉત્સાહથી મનાવતા હોય છે પરંતુ ઝારખંડના સંથાલ આદિવાસી સમુદાયમાં છોકરો જે છોકરીને રંગ છાંટે તો તેને ફરજીયાત એની સાથે લગ્ન કરવા પડે છે. આ અજીબો ગરીબ પરંપરા ઝારખંડના પશ્ચિમ સિંહભૂમથી પશ્ચિમ બંગાળના જલપાઇગુડીના વિસ્તારો સુધી જોવા મળે છે. દાયકાઓ વિતી ગયા છતાં રીવાજમાં કોઇ જ પરિવર્તન આવ્યું નથી. 

પ્રાપ્ત માહિતી અનુસાર સંથાલ આદિવાસી સમુદાયના ગામોમાં પુરુષો કરતા પણ મહિલાઓ વધારે ઉત્સાહથી હોળી રમે છે જેમાં અપરણીત યુવતીઓ પણ ભાગ લે છે. કુંવારી યુવતીઓ એક બીજાને હોળીના રંગ છાંટે છે પરંતુ કોઇ યુવક જો કુંવારી યુવતીને હોળીનો રંગ છાંટે તો એ યુવતી સાથે લગ્ન કરવા પડે છે. આથી યુવકો ભૂલથી પણ રંગ ના છંટાઇ જાય તેની કાળજી રાખે છે. રંગ છાંટયા પછી જો યુવક લગ્ન કરવાની ના પાડે તો તે જે ઘરમાં રહે છે એની સંપતિ યુવતીના નામે કરવી પડે છે જેમાં યુવકના માતા પિતા પણ ના પાડી શકતા નથી. હોળી તહેવારમાં જે યુવક યુવતીઓ એકબીજાને પસંદ કરે છે તે જ હોળી રમે છે.

This strange tradition is found from West Singhbhum in Jharkhand to the areas of Jalpaiguri in West Bengal. Decades have passed, but nothing has changed. 

According to the information received, in the villages of the Santhal tribal community, women play Holi with more enthusiasm than men, in which unmarried girls also participate. Unmarried girls sprinkle Holi colours on each other, but if a young man sprinkles Holi colours on an unmarried girl, then he has to marry that girl. Therefore the youth take care that the color does not get sprayed even by mistake. If the young man refuses to marry after the color is sprayed, then the property of the house in which he lives has to be done in the name of the girl, in which the parents of the young man can not refuse. In the Holi festival, young boys and girls who like each other play the same Holi.
