Indrayani River Bridge Collapses in Talegaon, Tourists Swept Away

As many as 2 people are feared dead and 25 t0 30 are injured after a bridge over the Indrayani river near Talegaon Dabhade in Pune collapsed on Sunday afternoon. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, NDRF teams have been deployed and rescue operation is underway. 

 Meanwhile, NCP MP Supriya Sule reached the spot and took the stock of the situation. NCP MLA Sunil Shelke said that two tourists have unfortunately lost their lives. Besides, four to five persons have been rescued. NDRF teams have been deployed here. Rescue boats and vans of the fire department are also being pressed into action. 

 The bridge over the Indrayani river usually witnesses tourists posing for photographs or crossing the river and considering Sunday, the number of visitors was high. As per the information given by Irrigation department, the water volume in the Indrayani river has swollen during the monsoon season, and the velocity of the water has also surged, . Earlier this month, District Collector Jitendra Dudi had issued a prohibitory order against tourists going near water bodies and other tourist spots

तळेगावमध्ये इंद्रायणी नदीचा पूल कोसळला, पर्यटक वाहून गेले

रविवारी दुपारी पुण्यातील तळेगाव दाभाडेजवळ इंद्रायणी नदीवरील पूल कोसळल्याने २ जणांचा मृत्यू झाला आहे तर २५ ते ३० जण जखमी झाल्याची भीती आहे. महाराष्ट्राचे मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस म्हणाले की, एनडीआरएफ पथके तैनात करण्यात आली आहेत आणि बचावकार्य सुरू आहे.

दरम्यान, राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसच्या खासदार सुप्रिया सुळे यांनी घटनास्थळी पोहोचून परिस्थितीचा आढावा घेतला. राष्ट्रवादी काँग्रेसचे आमदार सुनील शेळके म्हणाले की, दुर्दैवाने दोन पर्यटकांना आपला जीव गमवावा लागला आहे. याशिवाय, चार ते पाच जणांना वाचवण्यात आले आहे. एनडीआरएफ पथके येथे तैनात करण्यात आली आहेत. अग्निशमन विभागाच्या बचाव बोटी आणि व्हॅन देखील कामात आहेत.

इंद्रायणी नदीवरील पूल सहसा पर्यटकांना फोटो काढताना किंवा नदी ओलांडताना पाहण्यासाठी येतो आणि रविवार लक्षात घेता, पर्यटकांची संख्या जास्त होती. पाटबंधारे विभागाने दिलेल्या माहितीनुसार, पावसाळ्यात इंद्रायणी नदीतील पाण्याचे प्रमाण वाढले आहे आणि पाण्याचा वेगही वाढला आहे. या महिन्याच्या सुरुवातीला, जिल्हाधिकारी जितेंद्र दुडी यांनी पर्यटकांना जलकुंभ आणि इतर पर्यटन स्थळांजवळ जाण्यास मनाई आदेश जारी केला होता.
