'મુન્ની' તરીકે જાણીતી મલાઈકા અરોરાના પિતા અનિલ અરોરાએ છત પરથી કૂદીને આત્મહત્યા કરી લીધી છે. આ ઘટનાથી તેમનો પરિવાર શોકમાં ગરકાવ છે. એટલું જ નહીં, આ સમાચાર વાયુવેગે ફેલાઈ જતા ફિલ્મ ઉદ્યોગ પણ શોકમાં ગરકાવ છે. 

આ દરમિયાન મુંબઈ પોલીસે મલાઈકા અરોરાના ઘરે પહોંચીને તપાસ હાથ ધરી હતી. આ ઉપરાંત મલાઈકાનો એક્સ હસબન્ડ અરબાઝ ખાન પણ તેના ઘરે પહોંચી ગયો હતો. અરબાઝ ખાન અને મલાઈકા ઘરની બહાર પોલીસ અને અન્ય લોકો સાથે વાતચીત કરતા જોવા મળ્યા હતા. આ ઘટના વખતે મલાઈકા પૂણેમાં હતી. આ આઘાતજનક સમાચાર મળતાં જ તે વહેલી સવારે મુંબઈ જવા રવાના થઈ હતી. 

મલાઈકા અરોરાના પિતા અનિલ અરોરાનો જન્મ પંજાબી હિન્દુ પરિવારમાં થયો હતો. તેમનો પરિવાર પંજાબ સરહદે આવેલા ફાઝિલ્કા જિલ્લાનો વતની છે. તેમણે ભારતીય મર્ચન્ટ નેવીમાં નોકરી કરી હતી. તેમણે મલયાલમ ખ્રિસ્તી પરિવારની યુવતી જોયસ પોલીકોર્પ સાથે લગ્ન કર્યા હતા.
