એક્સાઇઝ પોલિસી કેસમાં કેજરીવાલછે તિહાર જેલમાં બંધ

દિલ્હીના મુખ્યમંત્રી અરવિંદ કેજરીવાલ હાલ કથિત એક્સાઇઝ પોલિસી કેસમાં જેલમાં બંધ છે. આ દરમિયાન કોર્ટ તરફથી તેમને ફરી એકવાર ઝટકો લાગ્યો છે. દિલ્હીની રાઉઝ એવન્યુ કોર્ટે બુધવારે (11 સપ્ટેમ્બર) કેજરીવાલની ન્યાયિક કસ્ટડી 25 સપ્ટેમ્બર સુધી વધારી દીધી છે. 

કોર્ટની કાર્યવાહી દરમિયાન કેજરીવાલ તિહાર જેલથી વીડિયો કોન્ફરન્સના માધ્યમથી જોડાયા હતા. સીબીઆઇએ કેજરીવાલ પર આરોપ મૂક્યો છે કે આમ આદમી પાર્ટીને કથિત કૌભાંડમાં ગેરકાયદેસર નાણાંથી લાભ થયો હતો.

21 માર્ચે ઇડીએ કરી હતી ધરપકડ

આમ આદમી પાર્ટીના રાષ્ટ્રીય કન્વીનરની સીબીઆઈ દ્વારા 26 જૂને ધરપકડ કરવામાં આવી હતી. આ પહેલા 21 માર્ચે મની લોન્ડરિંગ કેસમાં ઇડી દ્વારા તેમની ધરપકડ કરવામાં આવી હતી. મની લોન્ડરિંગ કેસમાં કેજરીવાલને સુપ્રીમ કોર્ટમાંથી વચગાળાના જામીન મળી ગયા છે પરંતુ સીબીઆઈના કેસમાં તેમની ધરપકડના કારણે તેઓ હજુ સુધી જેલમાંથી બહાર આવી શક્યા નથી. 

અગાઉ 27 ઓગસ્ટે અને ત્યાર પછી 3 સપ્ટેમ્બરે કેજરીવાલની કસ્ટડી 11 સ્પટેમ્બર સુધી વધારવામાં આવી હતી, હવે ફરી એક વાર તેમની કસ્ટડી વધારવામાં આવતા 25 સપ્ટેમ્બર સુધી તેઓ જેલમાં રહેશે.

નોંધનીય છે કે, એક્સાઇઝ પોલિસી કેસમાં કેજરીવાલ સાથે તિહાર જેલમાં બંધ આપ પાર્ટીના અન્ય નેતાઓ પણ કોર્ટની કાર્યવાહીમાં જોડાયા હતા, ત્યારે કોર્ટ તરફથી આપના નેતા દુર્ગેશ પાઠકને મોટી રાહત મળી છે. કોર્ટે દુર્ગેશ પાઠકને એક લાખ રૂપિયાના જામીન બોન્ડ પર આ કેસમાં જામીન આપી છે.

Kejriwal lodged in Tihar jail in excise policy case

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is currently lodged in Tihar jail in connection with an alleged excise policy matter. At the same time, the court has also reprimanded him. Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court on Wednesday (September 11) extended Kejriwal's judicial custody till September 25. Kejriwal joined the proceedings through video conferencing from Tihar Jail. The CBI has accused Kejriwal of benefiting the Aam Aadmi Party from illegal money in the alleged scam.

He was arrested by the ED on March 21.

The Aam Aadmi Party national convenor was arrested by the CBI on June 26. He was arrested by the ED on March 21 in a money laundering case. Kejriwal has been granted interim bail by the Supreme Court in the money laundering case but is yet to come out of jail due to his arrest in the CBI case. Earlier on August 27 and then on September 3, Kejriwal's custody was extended till September 11. 

Notably, other leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, who are in Tihar Jail along with Kejriwal in the Excise Policy case, also joined the court proceedings, while AAP leader Durgesh Pathak got a big relief from the court. The court granted him bail on a surety of Rs one lakh.
